Ms. Kesica Jayapalan, the esteemed founder of “Dogs of Coimbatore,” graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the forum.
Lauding Kumaraguru for taking up such initiative towards the welfare of stray animal, Ms Kesica said that such forums led by students in colleges will help in effectively addressing the issues surrounding stray animals. She said that a lot of issues related to stray animal crop up because of the general ignorance among people. She pointed on two primary issues which require immediate attention to bring down stray animal conflicts in the urban settlement like Coimbatore. Unregulated population of stray animals has to be checked besides managing waste properly. Wherever we find waste, we can find stray animal. This needs to be avoided to avoid conflicts, she said.
