Kumaraguru College of Technology hosts Anu Awareness Programme 2023
The Anu Awareness Programme – 2023 is a two-day long event initiated by the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, and hosted by Kumaraguru Institutions scheduled to take place on 7th and 8th August 2023 with an aim to raise awareness about Nuclear Science among the youth and school children.
Organised on the theme “Atoms in the service of the Nation”, the primary objective of the Anu Awareness Programme is to inform the younger generation about the advancements in Nuclear Science and Technology taking place in the country. By doing so, the event seeks to generate interest and enthusiasm among the youth for science subjects and encourage them to explore potential career opportunities in the Department of Atomic Energy. Additionally, the programme aims to dispel common myths and misconceptions surrounding nuclear energy.
Event Highlights:
Lectures: Renowned experts and scientists in the field of Nuclear Science and Technology will deliver lectures to educate the audience about various aspects of nuclear research, its applications, and its significance in India’s development.
Quiz Competitions: Interactive quiz competitions will be organized to engage the participants actively. These quizzes will test their knowledge about nuclear science and related topics, fostering a spirit of healthy competition.
Thought-provoking Art Competitions: Participants will have the opportunity to express their understanding and thoughts about nuclear science through art. Art competitions will encourage creative thinking and provide a platform for the youth to showcase their artistic talents.
Creative Writing Competitions: Creative writing competitions will encourage participants to explore the subject of nuclear science through the medium of literature. This will promote imaginative thinking and effective communication of complex scientific ideas.
Conceptual Orations: The event will feature conceptual oration sessions, allowing participants to present their ideas and innovative concepts related to nuclear science. This will encourage critical thinking and the exchange of ideas.
Exhibitions: Exhibitions will be set up to display nuclear reactor models and demonstrate the practical applications of ionizing radiation in medical, engineering, and agricultural fields. This hands-on experience will help the participants grasp the real-world implications of nuclear technology.
Krithik from Studio KCT frames brilliance by winning Madurai Digital Awards
Krithik S, Final Year Mechanical Engineering student and Secretary of Studio KCT has achieved a remarkable feat by winning the Best Photography Award category in the Madurai Digital Awards 2023.
A student with a passion for photography, Krithik has been honing his craft for several years. With an eye for detail and unique perspective coupled with technical excellence to convey the narrative in a single frame, Krithik opted to capture the Darasuram temple pillars in all its glory and the picture reflects a seamless blend of technical brilliance and creative ingenuity leaving a lasting impact on the onlooker.
Among the 247 entries for 6 categories of awards in photography, Krithik has won the Best Photography category. The Jury member included Mr. V Nandakumar IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India who is also an ace photographer. Team Agam Triumphs by winning 5 Prizes and Overall Championship at the 17th Interstate Yoga Competition
Team Agam proved their mettle by securing the overall championship and winning a total of 5 prizes in various categories at the 17th Interstate Yoga Competition held at United Educational Institutions, Periyanayakanpalayam. The outstanding performances of Team Agam which includes students from Kumaraguru College of Technology and Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science, not only showcased their individual talents but also highlighted the team’s unity and dedication. The winners are Devi Prasanna who claimed the first place, Monisha earning the 2nd place, Surya’s expertise granting him the 2nd place, Gokulanandan securing the 6th place and Kishore Kumar who earned the 1st place in the special category.
Team Agam continues to excel in their endeavors and they serve as role models for others to initiate Yoga practice and promote the significance of physical and mental fitness through this ancient practice.
Towards an International Academic Collaboration with Swinburne University
Prof Kishore, along with two students, Arichand Rahul – IV Year, Automobile, and Vidhun C R – IV Year, Mechanical, is participating in the 4th Swinburne Sarawak Postgraduate Research Conference (SSPRC2023). The conference, scheduled from 3rd to 4th August 2023, revolves around the theme “Pillars for Sustainability,” focusing on innovative interventions for achieving sustainable goals related to human, social, environmental, and economic aspects. Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus, Kuching, Malaysia, is the host venue.
Prof Kishore has been invited to serve as the Mechanical Engineering domain chair for the conference on 4th August. During the conference, Prof Kishore and his students have planned several productive engagements aimed at fostering academic collaborations and international relations. Some of the key agenda items include:
- Joint Courses on Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technology / Energy Economics
- Exchange Programme with Swinburne University of Technology

Mime Show at KCLAS on Anti-Human Trafficking leaves a lasting Impact
On July 31, 2023, the Department of Social Work and Drama Club collaboratively organized a compelling mime show on Anti-human trafficking. Led by Ms. Seema, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of final year MSW and B.A. Political Science. The aim of the mime show was to raise awareness about the grave issue of human trafficking and its profound impact on society. Through powerful gestures and expressions, the students effectively conveyed the urgent need for collective action to combat this social evil.
The performance resonated with the audience, driving home the gravity of the issue and the significance of taking proactive measures to combat human trafficking. In addition to the impactful performances, the event organizers made sure to provide the audience with vital resources.
