ZIGBEE TECHNOLOGY
It is a wireless technology.it is mainly used in controlling and sensor the networks.it is based IEEE 802.15 standard of TG4(task group 4) in 2003. The ZigBee has major advantage of low rate data transfer and provide long coverage for wireless application.it is created by ZigBee alliance. MAIN COMPONENTS:
ZigBee coordinators:
There will be only one coordinator per network it holds and stores the data
Router:
The stored data in coordinator will be directed to end devices when matches are satisficed between two local area network.
End devices:
End devices can be of any type which will be controlled by transmitting or receiving the data from coordinator via router. It can supports star, mesh and cluster tree topologies.
ZigBee ultimately goes on two modes .In non-beacon mode it wouldn’t sleep even there will be no transferring of data or in idle condition overall it will consume more power. Where as in Beacon mode if no function is initiated help of considering time slots it automatically goes to sleep.

Physical layer:
It is responsible for modulation and demodulation while transmission and reception of data of wireless personal area network (WPAN).
Media access control:
It is responsible to provide reliable transmission and reception by using MAC address and provide beacon frames to zigbee coordinator.
Network layer:
It perform network related tasks like connection setup, end device connection, disconnection, routing with help of ip address and device configuration.
The pairing of two devices can be matched based on frame works and there are three paring technique were used1) key value pairing by setting the attributes between coordinator and end devices, 2) generic message service it will defined by developer,3) ZDO it used to detecting and pairing the additional devices in a network, initiating and binding other devices to local area network. Some of major applications are traffic management in a network, remote control, home electronic systems, energy management.
