Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture (KIA) welcomes the 9th batch

The 9th batch of B Sc (Hons.) Agriculture was formally inducted into Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture during KIA Swagatham 2022. Through this induction program, students were oriented on what is in store for them to explore in the campus in the next four years.

A total of 180 students for the academic year 2022- 2026 and their parents participated in Swagatham in the college campus. KIA is growing as one of the progressive agriculture institutions in the state. Most of the students who opted for KIA said that they want to become technology savvy farmers, agriculture researchers and civil servants.
Some of them also wanted to make agriculture profitable for underprivileged farmers in the rural belts. KIA vows to channelise the energy of these young minds with the help of quality faculty members, equipped laboratories, playgrounds and hostels for outstation students.

Mr. K. Prakash, Correspondent and Mr. A. Balasubramanian, Executive Officer felicitated the gathering. Dr. B. J. Pandian, Principal, during his special address stated importance of the course B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture – a broad-based course having many facets and its future scope.

Mr. C. Saravanan, GM & Administrative Officer stated that the responsibility entrusted with the institution is multifarious, assured that all their aspirants will be nurtured with great care and ensures holistic progress of every student.

Dr. P. Baskar, Assoc. Professor (AGR) stated the academic rules and exam pattern which gave students the opportunity to get familiar with the course structure. Hostel rules and regulations were addressed by Dr. K. Shoban Chakravarthy, Asst. Professor (AGR) and Ms. S. Indumathi, Asst. Professor (AEX). Dr. S. Hemalatha, Assoc Professor (SS&AC) welcomed the gathering and Dr. K.S.Usharani, 1st year Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks.
