Inauguration of Asian Equipped Powerlifting Championship 2022
Powerlifting India under the aegis of the Asian Powerlifting Federation organizes Asian Equipped Powerlifting Championship 2022 from 17 to 21 June 2022 at Ramanandha Adigalar Auditorium, Kumaraguru Campus. This event is jointly hosted by Tamil Nadu Powerlifting Association and Kumaraguru Institutions. This event is conducted under the categories of Open, Sub Junior, Junior & Masters for both Men and Women. The event was inaugurated by Thiru.V.Senthil Balaji, Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, Government of Tamil Nadu, with the officials from Tamil Nadu Powerlifting Association.
Bhumi Campus Awards 2022
Bhumi Organization awarded Bhumi Campus Awards 2022 to 30 colleges in Tamil Nadu under seven categories. Bhumi Campus Awards 2022 is Asia’s first-ever unique award to recognize socially responsible colleges. One-of-its-kind attempt to learn from and strengthen Tamil Nadu colleges’ focus on building the future change-makers of this country. This enables recognition, learning, and sharing of best practices across multiple key aspects of a college. The Award ceremony was held at Rani Seethai Hall, Anna Salai, Chennai, on 11 June 2022. Thiru. Siva. V. Meyyanathan, Honourable Minister for Environment – Climate Change, Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Tamil Nadu, felicitated the awardees. Awards were given under seven categories: Most Socially Responsible Campus, Best Volunteer Engagement, Most Eco-Friendly Campus, Best Waste Management in Campus, Most Socially Responsible Staff, People Choice Winner and Most Unique Social Initiative. Kumaraguru Institutions were awarded with the following Bhumi Campus Awards for their exemplary performance in the sustainable development:
- Best Waste Management on Campus Award – Kumaraguru College of Technology for Resource Recovery Park
- Most Unique Social Initiative - Kumaraguru College of Technology for KARE
- Most Eco-Friendly Campus Award - Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science for Ahimsa Vanam Project
- Most Socially Responsible Staff - Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science – Dr Emmanuel Daniel for his 10 major projects done for the society.
- The Social Exemplar Award - A Special Recognizition for Kumaraguru College of Technology
Flag Mast Pavilion Workshop
Kumaraguru College of Technology and Triple O Studio conducted a two-day workshop on Flag Mast Pavilion on 13 & 14 June 2022. The total duration of the workshop was about 8 hours. Day 1 turned to be really amazing and had fun-filled sessions. Initially, the workshop started with grouping of teams. Then Mr. Arun, Designer at Triple O Studio gave an explanation about why the workshop has been arranged and also shared the agenda for the day. Sheets with scribblings were provided to each team and they were asked to connect the scribbles followed by framing a story and combining the stories of other members in the team. This was followed by designing an object depicting the word which was pulled out of the final version of their story. On day 2, they had a session titled Lock on the Pavilion Design, and evolution of design was beautifully explained by Ar. Tahaer Zoyab, Design Director at Triple O Studio. Later the participants visited their website, and they were made to create their own flag pavilion design. Finally, the event concluded with each team presenting it to Shri. Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions; Dr.D.Saravanan, Principal – KCT; and Dr. Vijila Kennedy, Principal – KCLAS.
The Ananta Aspen Emerging Leaders Fellowship
The 10th edition of the Ananta Aspen Emerging Leaders Fellowship for promising college students between 18 and 25 years of age was conducted from 06 to 11 June 2022 at Kumaraguru Campus. The Ananta Aspen Emerging Leaders Fellowship works to build a cadre of future leaders who can bring transformative change to society. It selects bright college students from across the country and helps them begin their leadership journey.

SWIM against the TIDE – Plans and Factors that shape Interview Environment
The Department of Languages and Communication, School of Foundational Sciences, KCT, conducted an Industry Expert Interaction and Module Delivery on the title SWIM against the TIDE – Plans and Factors that shape Interview Environment on 13 June 2022 at Swami Vivekananda Hall. Mr. Sathish N, Former Process Manager, Digital Nirvana Information Systems Pvt. Ltd., served to be the Guest Speaker and deliberated on the importance of getting industry-ready engineers. He is a passionate Leader, possessing more than 11 years of leadership experience, skilled in streamlining operations and implementing process improvement plans to ensure quick turnaround, client satisfaction and increased revenue. The session started with the opening remarks by Ms. S. Maahira Banu and Ms. N. Jenita from the first-year B.E./B.Tech, KCT. Welcome address was delivered by Ms. S. Brindha and the guest introduction was by Ms. D. Nalinipriya. The resource person Mr. Sathish N, deliberated on the nuances of making the students plan for their career and making them know the factors that shape the interview environment and its influence on communication. His inputs regarding the cover letter, resume and interview process helped the students to understand the current industry expectations and plan for their career. Ms. Mirudhulasri RK from the first year proposed the vote of thanks.
Future in Fashion Technology
The Department of Fashion Technology, KCT, organized a one-day program titled “Future in Fashion Technology” for school children in Grades 10 to 12 on 18 June 2022. In order to kindle creativity and interest in fashion, students were trained in simple fashion techniques such as fashion doodling, fashion montage and hand embroidery. There were about 75 students from different schools in Coimbatore and Samathur (Pollachi) participating in this event.
Sketch Wizard
The Department of Civil Engineering, KCT, conducted an event titled Sketch Wizard on 17 June 2022. This event was open for all and helped the participants to showcase their sketching skills with a technical diagram. A team of two participants were allowed to sketch the engineering illustrations. One team member was asked to instruct, and the other person should sketch the same in a piece of paper provided to them.
