K-Launcher  

Career Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Development Centre (CEED) from Kumaraguru Institutions launched the Annual Career Empowerment Program, K-Launcher for the students of Batch 2019-2023. The training is set to begin from 25 April 2022. The Chief Guest Mr. Subramanian, Country Lead, Silicon Labs, addressed the gathering by sharing his values and mantras to strive hard and reach their career goals. Followed by the event, the Silicon Labs team also conducted the first pre-placement session for the students of circuit branches inclusive of CSE, IT, ISE, ECE, EEE and E&I.  

Department Events 

Brain Rain 

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, KCT, organized an event titled Brain Rain as a part of Mech Fest on 20 April 2022 at CAD Lab. The event consisted of two rounds. Round 1 was an introductory round to explore Science Riddles. The best performers were moved on to the final round. In Round 2, the selected participants played the riddles with a higher difficulty level, and this round decided the podium winner. Based on the performance, the winners were selected and awarded with prize vouchers. 

CAD-MAN 

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, KCT, organized an event titled CAD- MAN as a part of Mech Fest on 21 & 22 April 2022 in CAD Lab. This event consisted of two rounds. Round 1 was Part Modelling – 2D drawing was given and the participants prepared a 3D model in SolidWorks with the given material and found the mass. Round 2 was Assembly – 3D parts were given, and the participants assembled the parts and found the centre of mass of the assembly as well as found the distance between two edges/parts. Based on the performance, the winners were selected and awarded with prize vouchers. 

Path to Success 

Kumaraguru Alumni Relations organized an Alumni Talk Series Edition 3 on Path to Success on 23 April 2022 through Microsoft Teams. The Resource Person of the event was Ms.Vanitha Maheswari A G, Architecture Manager, State Farm, USA – an alumnus of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering batch of 1998. She shared her experience in college, her work experience and the opportunities which are available outside of our comfort zone.

How to be ready for Post Pandemic Industrial Disruption  

SAE India KCT Collegiate Club conducted a seminar on How to be ready for Post Pandemic Industrial Disruption for II year & III-year Automobile, Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering Students. Mr.Mayank Arora delivered an expert talk on emerging technologies like Electric Hybrid Vehicles, Data Science – AI & ML, CAE Design & Industrial Automation, etc., on the practical implementation of academic knowledge, job readiness, the scope of student activities where they can involve themselves in the forthcoming years of their engineering studies. 

Trash Walk 2 

The Nature Club of Kumaraguru organized an event named Trash Walk on the occasion of World Earth Day on 22 April 2022. The trash walk is a field visit to the resource recovery park of Kumaraguru. Roughly 15 people took part in the trudge. The motive of the visit was to educate the participants about waste segregation. The participants gained knowledge about how waste generated by them on the campus is treated. They also came to know different waste handling techniques and the various provisions and operations conducted in the resource recovery park of Kumaraguru. The main motto of the event was to give an overview of the RRP of KCT and to make the participants to gain knowledge about the upcycle and recycle process and techniques.
