Club Events

Circuit design challenge

The SEDS Club of Kumaraguru conducted an event titled Circuit Design Challenge HARDWARE. Registered participants were given a set of real-time problem statements which could be solved by designing electronic circuits. Designing circuits can be done using Tinkercad, Proteus or DLD software. The designed circuits were validated, and they were asked to fabricate the circuit with the hardware components which were provided. The participants gained hands-on experience in circuit designing and fabrication through the event.

Deep Space Object Hunt

SEDS Club of Kumaraguru organized an event titled Deep Space Object Hunt on 24 & 25 February 2022. The Deep Space Object Hunt was a training session conducted for the new recruits to make them handle the telescope on their own. The main objective of this event was to make the participants know how to handle the telescope and use it to view the Deep Space objects. The event started with a presentation about the basics of telescope by Mr.Sai Shankaran, the President of SEDS KCT. Important components related to telescope such as focal length, magnification and the purpose of view finder were explained. The eye piece of the telescope was given to the participants to get a real time experience by viewing it. It was an interactive session between the speaker and the participants. A demonstration was made regarding the setup of the telescope.  On the first day, the participants were taught on how to calibrate the telescope by Mr.Sai Shankaran. The session started with the observation of Sirius, the brightest star followed by Andromeda, the nearest galaxy. The session concluded with observation of Orion Nebula, the closest region of massive observation. The participants were excited and experienced a real time viewing experience through the telescope. On day two, the participants were given a chance to calibrate the telescope. They were taught on how to calibrate it with the nearest light source by Mr.Sai Shankaran. The importance of calibration was also explained to the participants. The session was then carried out with the observation of Sirius followed by Ursa Constellation. The session ended with observation of Orion Nebula. Participants came to know the stars in the space using Sky App. The participants gained knowledge about assembly, calibration, control and usage of telescope. The session created a strong bond between the new recruits and seniors.
