HOPE

Written in the 19th century, poet Emily Dickinson’s version of hope is “the thing with feathers” that “perches in the soul” and perseveres; it sings “and never stops at all.” During this period of pandemic, there were episodes of uncertainty; but we are holding on and marching forward because of one small hanging thread called ‘Hope’.
Hope is a collection of 9 short stories written by 9 young authors of Kumaraguru Institutions (both KCT & KCLAS) with a single emphasis on how optimism and hopefulness gleam over us amidst the life changing pandemic. The book launch happened virtually on 25 December 2021, presided by Ms. Richa Singh, CEO & Conceptualiser of YourDOST and the Leadership of Kumaraguru Institutions.
Formally welcomed by Mr.Vinu Varshith, President of Literature, Leadership Council 2021, the event progressed with Ms.Lakshmi Palaniappan, President of Literature, Leadership Council 2020, walking the participants through the journey and way forward of the anthology. Dr.Ezhilarasi, Associate Dean, SFS, felicitated the efforts of the authors and mentors involved in the journey. The book was launched through a video, evincing the details of the book followed by the student authors and editors sharing their experiences. The hope anthology was penned by 9 student authors of the institution – Kodimalar, Smrithi MG, Nikita Reddy, Madhan Mohan, Smrithi Sajith, Assmitha Raja, Nakshatra Lakshmi MS, Shabnam Shajahan, Lakshmi Palaniappan. It was edited and mentored by the alumni of Kumaraguru, Shrinivaasan LN, Faheem Noorul and Nandhitha. The book was published and released in Notionpress and Amazon. The book cover was designed by Varsha Thangaraj. The vote of thanks was articulated by Kodimalar, III-Year Biotechnology student and the master of ceremony was enunciated by Nikita Reddy, III-Year Biotechnology, KCT.
In a nutshell, the authors brought out the societal emotions by means of words and the words now became a book representing the lockdown thoughts under the canopy called “HOPE. The instrumental journey from the good to the best one was precisely because of the mentors and editors who had sculpted the authors in building a strong foundational bridge between the authors and the audience.
