KCT Swagatham 2021
KKCT Swagatham 2021, the induction programme for the first year B.E/B.Tech. students of Batch 2021-25 was conducted in the virtual mode on 10 November 2021. The induction programme was aired live on KCT YouTube channel from the Ramanandha Adigalar Auditorium at the campus. Dr. B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, Kumaraguru Institutions, in the Presidential Address emphasized on the significance of remaining self-motivated with a unilateral focus to realise the dreams and aspirations of the young learners. Shri. Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions, in his special address highlighted that the youth are the transformative force and insisted them to be aspirational to scale to great heights. He further emphasized on the difference between the school education and the college education, and asked the students to consider their college life as a new beginning and maintain mutual respect, fitness and an active and a healthy mind. Dr. Saravanan D, Principal, KCT and Dr. Joseph V Thanikal, Director, KCT offered their felicitations. HoDs and faculty members were present during the virtual function. Final year students of KCT debriefed the freshers on the 7-day IGNITE boot camp.
Recognising the Achievers of Kumaraguru
Kumaraguru College of Technology organised a felicitation ceremony on 10 November 2021 in honour of KCT alumnus of Mech Engineering Batch 2014 Mr. Shriyash S, who cleared UPSC Civil Service Exam 2020. Shri. Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions, presided over the function and in his address stated that Mr.Shriyash serves as an inspiration to hundreds of Civil Service aspirants in Kumaraguru Institutions and beyond. He applauded that his achievement in UPSC Exam showcases his perseverance and unilateral focus towards his goal.
KCLAS MoU with Alliance Française
Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Alliance Française, Chennai, to build and pKumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Alliance Française, Chennai, to build and promote French language and its culture, on 09 November 2021. Dr. Vijila Kennedy, Principal, KCLAS and Mr. Bruno Plasse, Executive Director, AF Chennai, signed the memorandum in the presence of other dignitaries. The scope of the MoU includes Language Trainings, Preparing more DELF aspirants, Workshops and other Cultural collaborations. This MoU will create an awareness among the student community. French Language becomes a skill which is globally recognized in Career, Higher Education, Tourism and lot more to enrich the quality of excellence.

Alumni talk series – 3
The Association of Biotechnologists (ABT) organised the Alumni Talk Series – 3 on 31 October of 2021 via MS Teams. Ms. Deepika Gururaj, Medical Biotechnologist at Multiplex Genomics Inc, Ontario, Canada and Ms. Poornima Sundararajan pursuing MS Medical Biotechnology at University of Windsor, Canada, led the session sharing their experiences on applying, studying, and working in Canada. About 50+ participants eagerly joined the session. Ms. Deepika, followed by Ms. Poornima, after a thorough glimpse on their journey and current positions, went on to clarify all the queries of the students with a Q&A session. They explained almost everything from choosing the interested fields and universities to the requirements of applying to Canadian universities. This webinar was to help students wishing to pursue their higher education abroad to interact with their alumni and gain knowledge from their experiences and be guided to make the right decisions towards their dreams.
Club Events
The Charter Day
The Rotaract Club of KCT hosted the 29th Charter Day Celebration at Sir CV Raman Seminar Hall, KCT, on 11 November 2021. This was the first offline meet of the club members after a very long gap of almost two years. Initially, the meet went with all the procedures that had to be followed at Charter Day Celebrations followed by a short introduction session where the participants introduced themselves. The original celebration made everyone to be completely driven by fun activities. Initially, they had dumb charades, the entire crew was divided into three teams, the teams were given names and had a theme. After the dumb charades, they had an interesting session where a few audio files were played, and the participants were asked to identify the song. A few of the club members performed cultural activities following that and it brought more colours to the event. At last, the event was adjourned by the President of the club. The event lasted for about 3 hours and brought wonderful coordination among the entire crew.
Plastic Resting
The NSS_RRC_VBC and Rotaract Club of KCT made the first step towards sustainable development. This insightful session happened on 02 November 2021 through MS Teams. The session was about plastic awareness, and the students were provided information about sustainable development and measures taken to achieve the same. The most significant UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were debriefed to the participants. Following it, the harmful effects of plastic, especially single use plastic, were discussed. Finally, students joined the brainstorming session and many of them shared their views on suggestions to stop using plastics.
Poetry Slam
The Scrabble Club of KCT organised an event titled Poetry Slam from 26 October to 01 November 2021. It was an The Scrabble Club of KCT organised an event titled Poetry Slam from 26 October to 01 November 2021. It was an experiment on poetry writing skills on various themes laid out. The event consisted of two rounds where the first round mainly focused on crafting a poem from a theme combination that contains a weird picture and short story through Google Forms. The second round focused on acrostic poem that is written based on the connection event through MS Teams. There were lots of budding poets in need of platform to establish their talents, and this event provided an exciting opportunity to reveal the talent to the world. The main outcome of the event was to make the participants to explore the poems in form of situation, identify the clues and connect them to find the acrostic poem.
