SWAGATHAM 2021
Kumaraguru Campus was brimming with excitement to welcome the lateral B.E./B.Tech students of the Batch 2021-2024 for the Induction Program, Swagatham 21 in the physical mode on 21 October 2021. The event started with prayer song followed by the floral tribute to the Founder Chairman Arutchelvar Dr.N.Mahalingam Ayya. Dr.D.Saravanan, Principal, in his welcome address explained about the ecosystem in KCT and about the emerging interdisciplinary engineering courses. Shri.Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions, during his Presidential Address shared that education is a community growth and the trust with a positive aspiration gives the institution a lot of hope, belief and responsibility. He further enunciated that the next three years will be filled with challenges which we have to manage and race forward. He assured that the campus ensures holistic progress for every KCTian. Following Swagatham, students will be having an Immersion Boot Camp, Enlite, where the students from the KCT will guide the new students towards the facilities and specializations in college and how competently they could utilize the various research and service facilities of KCT such as: Re – Student Research Cell, iQube – Product incubation centre, Garage – The student R&D product development centre and various clubs and forums of KCT. Enite is fully organized and handled by the senior students, thus efficiently bridging the gap between the school and college life and guiding the new students through their chosen path towards becoming, ‘Engineers of Tomorrow’.
Department Events
Train the Trainer
The Physics Department, School of Foundational Sciences, in association with FCLF KCT conducted a hands-on Workshop on RTI Drafting, Train the Trainer on 12 October 2021. The resource person for this training program was Dr.R.Balamurugan, Assistant Professor, SFS, KCT. The RTI Act influence on people and impact on Indian Administration in greater transparency in functioning of public authorities was elaborated during the session. This mandates disclosure of information regarding government rules, regulations and decisions, every public authority is mandated to maintain all records duly catalogued and indexed in a perfect manner. The act is powerful instrument to fight against corruption. Access to information can empower the poor and weaker sections of society to demand government information about public policies and actions, thereby leading to welfare of every citizen. The program was organized to disseminate the significance of RTI act among the teaching community.
Club Events
Missile Man Fest 2021
A series of 3 events was conducted under Missile Man Fest 2021 by Aeromodeling Club of KCT as a celebration of 90th Birth Anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam from 14 to 15 October 2021.
Dronefest
Dronefest is an event for college students to bring out their innovation and problem-solving skills. There were two rounds. In round 1, the team of participants should submit a report on the given problem statement. The best reports were shortlisted for the second and final round, which was a PowerPoint presentation. The best of the presentations was awarded to be the winner. This event served as a great platform to showcase their knowledge on UAV and current trends related to UAV. The team can boost up their presentation and problem-solving skills.
Sindhikalam
Sindhikalam is an event for school students to bring out their creativity. This event had two categories. Category 1 was for class 6 to 8 and their task was to make craft on any topic. Category 2 was for class 9 to 12, and they were asked to make a mini-innovation. Students were asked to make a video presentation of themselves and share with the team. The best in each category was announced as winners. This was indeed an excellent opportunity to express their creativity and talent after a long time. Their efforts also acted as an inspiration to see things from a different perspective.
Journey from Man to Human
This webinar focuses on soft skills, an important skill for career and life. With increasing importance everywhere, soft skills are becoming a must-have skill irrespective of the field. This webinar focused on integrated personality and anger management. The speaker was Mr. Sankar Chellaram with a wide field experience of 42 years – 21 years in IAF and 21 years in private sector. The participants were exposed to the various aspects of integrated personality. He also gave anger management tips and shared his life experiences.
Dare Say It
The Books and Beyond Club of KCT conducted an event titled Dare Say It on 13 October 2021. The main goal of the event was to play games using words and improve our communication and verbal skills. It consisted of two rounds where participants had to find a word using indirect hints. The main instructions were given, and the doubts were clarified. Everyone switched on their video when they had their turn for the game in order to maintain integrity of the participants. In the first round, Clues and Cues, participants were randomly paired up and breakout rooms were created. One of them had to return to the main room to get their 5 clues. These clues included popular names of personalities, books, fictional characters, places, things, etc. Once the person got the clue, they returned to the breakout rooms again. A total of 90 seconds was given for each pair to correctly guess their clues. The person with clues gave out subtle hints while the other person guessed. Once every pair got their chance, the best pairs were filtered to the second round, Guess the Disguised. Again, the participants were re-shuffled. Just like the first round, one of them backtracks to the main room to get a personality. This time, the other person asked 10 questions and the impersonator answered. The personality was asked not to give too direct or straightforward answers. The winners and runner ups were declared by the end of the day. To appreciate their efforts and interests, cash prizes were awarded. The excitement of entrants lasted till the end. The outcome of the event was to improve the presence of mind of the players.
Drama-Relier
Drama Troupe of KCT came up with a creative and fun-filled event titled Drama-Relier from 13 to 14 October 2021 through Instagram stories to keep the participants engaged with their imaginative skills. It was more like a connection event in which the participants were asked to find out the answers of few drama-related questions. The main motive of this event was to make the participants inspire towards the art of drama and its history. Also, to kindle their creative ideas, the questions with the pictures were posted in the Instagram story and the participants were so enthusiastic and the event received so many interesting responses. Overall, there were 45+ participants actively participating in the event. The participant with the maximum number of correct answers was picked as the winner at the end of the event.
Road Safety Essentials
Road Safety Patrol of KCT jointly with YUVA Club of KCT conducted a webinar titled Road Safety Essentials on 15 October 2021 via Microsoft Teams. The session was handled by Ms.Priya Ramakrishnan, Road Safety Coordinator at the Children’s Traffic Park, Coimbatore. This webinar was conducted with a vision to create road safety awareness. The topics handled in this session were global status report issued by WHO, daily inspection, blind spot, MSS techniques, Good Samaritans law, traffic safety measures, traffic situations in India, qualities of good driver, tips to avoid road race, and the driving posture. The session served to be very useful to know more about road safety awareness, which would help students to take a mindful decision on road.
Vanna Thoorigai
The 11 October 2021 being observed as International Girl Child Day, Vanna Thoorigai focused in unleashing the talents of young minds through their posters with a motive to raise awareness on girls’ education. Even today, the online version of education is denied for girls. The main objective of the event was to create and spread awareness on the significance of educating a girl child. The participants were provided with google forms inquiring about their personal information and they were also provided link to submit their artworks. The participants showcased their creative skills in Digital Art and Sketching for the provided theme.
Youth Conclave

The Rotaract Club of KCT along with Gandhi Global Family, Rotary International District 3201, Interact of Manchester International School and Interact of National Model Schools hosted a session with blooming minds blasting their thoughts. Mr.Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad, Former Union Minister and Former Chief Minister of Jammy & Kashmir, President Gandhi Global Family, New Delhi and Rtn.Rajasekar Srinivasan as Guest of Honour (District Governor) presided over the event. The session was initially called to order by the President of our Rotaract club followed by the addresses by Rtn.Rajasekhar the District Governor, the DRR. Rtr.Keerthi Vivek and other Rotarians. Youth are among the first victims of radicalization and conflict. Their participation in the prevention and resolution of disputes is therefore essential for building up sustainable peace. Across the globe, there are extraordinary young people creatively seeking ways to prevent violence and consolidate peace. The mission of this event was to develop young people thinking about peace. The event had a lot of young aspirants expressing their views regarding how majorly the youth can contribute towards peace building. The event had a massive finish with the presence of Mr.Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad sharing his views on how the country totally depends on youth for implementing various activities and establishing peace throughout the world and spreading Gandhian principles. Thus, the Youth Conclave on Peace – A UNIVERSAL SIGNATURE served to be a signature event.
FAZED
HAM Club of KCT organized an online puzzle event titled FAZED on 16 October 2021. The main objective of this event was to spread the ideas of the Former President and Scientist Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam through pictured jigsaw puzzle. The participants were provided with a few pictures of jigsaw puzzles. An MS Form with a set of questions was circulated through social media on 16 October 2021. Participants who gave the correct answer by solving the puzzle were selected as winners. The main motive of this event was accomplished by testing how participants are familiar with Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.
Vanga Pala “Kalam”
Robotics and Automation Club jointly with KURAL Club of KCT organized an event titled Vaanga Pala“Kalam” on 16 October 2021 in commemoration of the World Students Day to honour Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. To showcase the importance of communication and to explore the spontaneous speaking skills of the participants, the event consisted of two stages. Stage 1 was ‘Jest a Minute’, the participants expressed their ideas on the given topic. In Stage 2, random groups/clans were assigned, and the teams chose their topic to speak for about 3 minutes. All the clans used their time by having an effective discussion and the flow of their content was continuous and relevant to the topic.
