Scholastic Talk Series on Entrepreneurial Journey

As a part of Scholastic Talk Series conducted by the School of Foundational Sciences, KCT, a session titled Entrepreneurial Journey was conducted on 13 May 2021 via MS Teams. Mr.Ganesh Shankar, Founder and CEO, Fluxgen Technologies and Director, The Sustainability Mafia, motivated the participants to involve in entrepreneurship. He also detailed the various opportunities available for engineering students to carry out projects related to sustainable development goals. He shared his vast experience with GE Aviation Systems, GE Energy Selco Solar and Next First Technologies with the participants. He also shared the strategies to take up engineering projects that contribute to sustainable development and guided the participants on how to successfully complete them. There were 95+ Kumaraguru ProLearn (Project Based Learning Framework) students who found the session to be very interesting and informative.
Faculty Development Programme on Implementation of Moodle

A Faculty Development Programme on Implementation of Moodle Learning Management System was conducted by KCT Business School from 05 to 07 May 2021 via MS Teams. Dr.Jaisankar S, Associate Professor and Mr.Vivek Raj S N, Assistant Professor, KCT Business School, demonstrated the functions of the software to the participants. The event helped the faculty from Engineering colleges, Management institutions, Arts and Science colleges, and schools to understand the implementation process of Moodle LMS and to gain knowledge in using various tools and features of Moodle for effective teaching-learning process.
Webinar on 5G Radio Access Network Slicing

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, KCT, in association with The Institution of Engineers (India), Coimbatore Local Centre, celebrated World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2021 by organising a webinar on 5G Radio Access Network Slicing on 17 May 2021 via Google Meet. The webinar session was based on the theme Accelerating Digital Transformation in Challenging Times. Dr Pei Xiaois, Professor (Wireless Communications), Information and Communication Systems and Dr Juquan Justin Mao, Research Fellowship, University of Surrey, United Kingdom, served to be the guest speakers for the session.
Expert Talk on Entrepreneurship

The Department of Mechatronics Engineering, KCT, organised an Expert Talk on Entrepreneurship on 01 May 2021 via Google Meet. Mr.Sathish Nair, Founder & CEO, EssEmm Corporation, Coimbatore, motivated the participants to become successful entrepreneurs. The session dealt with the different skills that are essential to become an entrepreneur, choosing the right business, preparation for start-ups, maintaining stability in the market and maintaining reliability with the customer.
Guest Lecture on IEEE Xplore: Search Strategies to Optimize Your Research

IEEE KCT Student Branch conducted a Guest Lecture titled IEEE Xplore: Search Strategies to Optimize Your Research on 11 May 2021 via MS Teams. Mr.Nanda Lal T S, Senior Training Manager, EBSCO Information Services & IEEE Xplore Digital Library, explained about the use of these platforms and how to optimize the search strategies to get maximum output. The session helped the participants to learn and identify new research areas and tracking technologies to improve the research.
Career Guidance Webinar
A Career Guidance Webinar was conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, KCT, in association with IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) on 14 May 2021 via Google Meet. This helped the participants to acquire knowledge, information, skills, and experience that are necessary to identify their career options and to make specific career choice. The event detailed the scope of every career option in detail and widened the horizon of the participants. Dr.Ramalatha Marimuthu, Secretary, IEEE Computer Society; Dr.Umamaheswari S, Dr.Alagumeenakshi M and Ms.Jasmine K from the Department of ECE, KCT, deliberated the session.

A webinar on Robotics in Industry 4.0 was conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, KCT, on 15 May 2021 via MS Teams. Mr.Sriram Nagarajan, Co-Founder & Automation Engineer, RoboRAM, detailed the usage of robotics in the current industrial sector. He also insisted on the necessity for industrial automation for effective manufacturing process.
Research Forum on Systematic Literature Review

KCT Business School organised a Research Forum on Systematic Literature Review on 15 May 2021 via MS Teams. The nuances of searching appropriate literature were detailed by Dr.Barnabas N, Professor of Marketing, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, NMIMS University, Bengaluru. The participants found the session to be very informative.

He also detailed the challenges that they must face in the market and motivated the participants to convert every challenge into an opportunity.

Super60 – Week 9

The week nine of Super60 left the tribe with lots of room for introspection and space to analyse the prevailing need for empathy. The first session was on “Privilege and Responsibility” by Ms.Shobana Kumar, who helped the group to understand how privileged we are in this tough situation. Mr.Sangeeth and Mr.Harish, founders of “Change Iruka,” a fun-filled podcast that aims to discuss social stigmas, led a heartfelt feel-good session on ‘Breaking Stigmas.’ The next session was conducted by Mr.Prashanth, founder of Athleap, which probably ended up being the most impactful session that openly talked about failures and the ground reality of creating success stories through failures. The final session of the week was on ‘Empathy’ by Mr.Nivethan, who helped the tribe deeply understand what stirs empathy within them. He helped them to understand the need for empathy as millions face despair at the moment.
Profile Building

Sprout Kumaraguru conducted profile building sessions on Kaggle and Technical Blogging to the students of Project Based Learning Framework of KCT on 08 May 2021 via MS Teams. Mr.Jino Rohit, II year, Computer Science and Engineering, KCT, explained the concepts to understand how Kaggle Leader board works along with its ML algorithm. Mr.Amudhan S M, III year, CSE, KCT, dealt with the concept of technical blogging by explaining the effectiveness of writing versus videos, blogging versus technical writing and taking the articles in the right direction.
Leadership Council 2022
The selection process for Leadership Council selection process 2021-22 members is on the go with three rounds of interviews being completed. The applicants were assessed on their public speaking abilities and their team-building skills as a part of their recruitment process. The eligible candidates will be inducted into the council.
