MCA SWAGATHAM – 2020
The induction programme for MCA Batch 2020-22 SWAGATHAM 2020 was conducted virtually on Friday, 18 Dec 2020 at 6 pm through MS Teams platform. Dr.M.Manikantan , HoD, MCA, KCT welcomed the gathering, highlighted on the facilities and opportunities and elaborated on how the students can make use of it effectively. Dr.J.Srinivasan , Principal, KCT, in his address congratulated the students and their parents for choosing MCA at KCT as their destination for promising career and gave more insights on the programmes available in the campus.
Shri.Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions, during his Presidential Address congratulated the students and emphasized on the need to plan, think, evolve, and execute a great story for their life. Dr.Saravanan, Dean, KCT, felicitated the gathering and emphasized on the significance of MCA programme. Mr.Anush Gopi, student of I MCA shared his thoughts on choosing MCA at KCT. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.Vijayakumar, President, MCA, Leadership Council. Around 140 participants attended the programme on the virtual mode.
Round Table Conference
In commemoration of World Energy Conservation Day, the Department of Civil Engineering, KCT, in association with Qubate Forum of KCT organised an online debate titled “Round Table Conference” on 14 Dec 2020. The debate mainly focused on the topic “Are we really moving towards a sustainable environment?” The participants were highly interactive during the online session and a serious discussion on various drawbacks was carried out during the debate. All major sectors related to environment and agriculture were covered during the debate and the participants eagerly tried to provide solutions for the ongoing issues during the session. There were around 20+ participants for the event.
Webinar on Taking Innovation to Market
A webinar on “Taking Innovation to Market” was conducted by KCT Business School on 13 Dec 2020 via MS Teams. Mr.Leelakrishnan, Founder, Renuka Industries, explained the importance of identifying the requirements of the society in order to provide better products according to the needs of the customers. He also shared his personal experience of patenting products and manufacturing them at a large scale. He motivated the students to understand the concepts and to have basic knowledge of the subjects they are currently learning. The session offered them technical guidance on patenting products and manufacturing. There were 40+ participants for the webinar session, and they found the session to be very interesting and useful.
Webinar on Higher Studies
A webinar on Higher Studies was conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, KCT, on 16 Dec 2020. Mr. Santhosh D, Director, IMS Institute, Coimbatore, deliberated about the career opportunities available for the students after their postgraduation. He also briefed about the significance of pursuing MBA and explained about the admission process including the details about various entrance examinations required to take up the course.
Workshop on Derivatives
A Two-Day Workshop on Derivatives was conducted by KCT Business School from 08 to 09 Dec 2020 via MS Teams. Dr.P.Varadharajan, Financial Analyst and Stock Market Consultant and Proprietor, SKT Steels & Tiles, provided a hands-on training on the concepts of derivatives and a trading session was also demonstrated to the participants.
A Glimpse about LinkedIn Profile and Resume Creation
An online event titled “A Glimpse about LinkedIn Profile and Resume Creation” was conducted by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, KCT, on 16 Dec 2020 via MS Teams. The objective of the event was to guide the participants about the basics of creating LinkedIn profile and resume, and prepare them to build a creative profile through live demonstration. The session explained the step-by-step process of creating LinkedIn profile and resume through live examples and online tools. There were 30 participants for the event, and it helped them to create attractive profiles.
