K-LEAP

    Kumaraguru Learning Enhancement & Assistence Program (K-LEAP) is an initiative to assist school students learning process and to provide necessary tech support for the children to attend online classes. Around 30 children from class 6th to 12th of our college supporting staff are mentored by 20+ student mentors. Those children who are without digital facilities are provided with 6+ mobile phones through this programme.


NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

7 Days camp

    7 days Special camp is a integral part of National Service Scheme. It provides unique opportunity for young people for group living, experience sharing, and a strong interaction with community by exploring the village and organizing camps. More than 80 volunteers took part in the 7 days camp and many people are benefitted by the Series of camp.

    கைப்படாத தூரிகையால் மையிடாமல் தீட்டிய ஓவியம், காக்கும் தாயான காவியம், இயற்கையிலோ ஆச்சரியங்கள் ஏராளம்! அவற்றில் ஒன்று – வீரத்தின் வடிவாய், கம்பீரத்தின் காட்சியாய் ,  சாதூர்யத்தின் சாட்சியாய் ராஜநடையிடும் புலிகள்.

“காணுறை வேங்கை” என்ற தலைப்பில் நடந்த இணைய உரையில், புலிகளின் தோற்றம், உணவு பழக்கம், சிறப்பம்சங்கள், புலிகள் பற்றிய இலக்கிய குறிப்புகள், என அனைத்து செய்திகளையும் சூழலியல் களத்தில் பணிபுரியும் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்களான முனைவர் .இரவிச்சந்திரா மற்றும் கிருஷ்ண குமார் ஐயா, விவரித்து, தங்கள் ஆய்வுகள், சிரமங்கள், என அனைத்து தனித்துவமான செய்திகளையும் பங்கேற்பாளர்கள்  அறிந்து கொண்டனர்.

    The ultimate aim of this event is to make the students understand and acquire knowledge about how the  plasma therapy works against Corona virus. Also provide us insight about the development phase of the corona vaccine. Additionally it also provide us with more details and precautions to safeguard us from the infection of Corona virus.

     This particular event signifies us, the need to follow the road rules. Portray us the  Importance of seat belt, stopping distance and the risk of overtaking. Benefits of following speed limit and suggestions to reduce accidents was also discussed. Acknowledge us with  road signs, markings, act and penalties.


GANDHIAN YOUTH MOVEMENT

Khadi exhibition

     Khadi exhibition was an event planned in the Gandhian week from 03.10.2018 – 05.10.2018. (8:30 am – 05:30 pm). The main motto of the khadi exhibition is to enhance the use of khadi products by exhibition and sales of them.  This will indirectly help the rural people who depend on manufacturing khadi products. Gandhipuram sarvodhaya sangam were its collaborators and sponsors. The products sold like khadi sarees and khadi industry produces were totally around Rs.47,525 . The outcome of the event were well known marketing strategies, get to visualize Gandhi views on khadi products and these products were free from artificial stuffs, so may not harm the users.


ABLE CLUB

Eni oru tholil saiyom

     The objective of the workshop is to teach women a new skill using silk thread and to guide them. An impact among the women was created so that they can earn from home by learning new skills. The products that we made in the villages were sold in the Angadi YUGAM2020.The skills were taught to the women from 11/02/2020 to 04/03/2020 (venue-Velaikinaru, Anjugam Nagar, Udayampalayam). The number of organizers was 15 and around 45 plus women were benefited.

Day1

The webinar was started by welcoming address and a small introduction about the speakers. Dr. S. R.Subramaniyan and Mr. Vijayaragavan Gopal for the topic “Simple living and high thinking”.
After this, the webinar was taken over by Shri. G.Vijayaragavan Gopal sir. He started by praising kumaraguru institutions for 120 volunteers from KCT, 20 countries participated in the 2 international conferences which were hosted in KCT. The webinar was finally came to an end by honoring them with a vote of thanks. The speakers had really done a great time with their words on Gandhian activities, Covid – 19 causes and inspiring quotes and information.

Day2

The event to know what are the role of youth in post covid situation and to know if any future goals of success , peace, prosperity and safety accomplished ,their participation is must. “Thrive day-2” to know their role and in future youth are the backbone of a nation.


RED RIBBON CLUB OF KCT

General Checkup for workers

     “Health and wellness of a employee plays an important role in his/her deliverables of works and responsibilities.” Importance and the need to serve the society from the technical aspects and responsibilities, So Red Ribbon club of KCT have conducted this event on 25th February 2020.The workers are consulted with the doctors for free to know about their health problems. To provide a free checkup for teaching staffs,non teaching staffs , mess workers and house keeping workers of KCT is the main objective of this event.Totally,180 workers from the college have consulted with the doctors.

Harmonize

Harmonize –  as it was called was held on 27th July and 28th July 2020, consisted of a two-day panel discussion with 4 prominent speakers and 2 workshops which had the main objective of discussing issues related to the mental health in a series of ways like a panel discussion, a Q&A session and deriving solutions for them through workshops which paved the way for the clearer flow of thoughts in these times of emotional turmoil for the participants. The guests were experienced people who had commendable achievements in their respective fields, be it a family coach (Mrs. Gotha Hari Priya) or an origami artist (Mr Thiyaga Sekar). The world needs people who are selfless and are willing to contribute whatever they can towards the betterment of society. 


YOUTH RED CROSS

Awareness on Suicide isn’t a solution

    The Youth Red Cross of Kumaraguru College of Technology conducted an online Awareness on “Suicide isn’t a solution” on October 2,2020.This event was conducted to change the perception about suicide, since it is becoming more common decision amongst all the people nowadays. The live session with chief guest Mrs. Padma Priya comprised of spreading awareness on suicide and how to overcome that mentality. By attending this session, many of them would have got self motivation which gears up for a new path to cherish.


PUDHUPAAVAI

Webinar on women health and hygiene

    Pudhupaavai Club of KCT have organized a webinar on “Women health and hygiene ” on August 31,2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. This session was conducted to create awareness about health and hygiene of women. In this webinar, Dr. Pooja Mathew, Consultant, Obstetrician and Gynecologist from Motherhood women and children’s hospital, clearly explained about the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, contraception, personal hygiene and obesity. She taught the participants how to lead a peaceful and healthy life and it was a really interactive session. She told that cervical cancer screening is more important for every women. Overall, 50 participants were influenced and got knowledge about the health and personal hygiene.
