Sensor Fusion
Basically the technology involved in bringing the inputs together from multiple radars and cameras to form a single model or output of the environment is called sensor fusion
RADAR:
- They are the primary sensor used in adaptive cruise control
- Radars are very strong at accurately determining distance and speed
- But they cant read signs on the roadside and also they cant able to determine the colors of the stoplight

CAMERAS:
- They do very well reading of signs (or) Classifying object
- But they will be easily blinded by dirt ,sun and rain

LIDARS:
- IT can create a map of environment around it
- They can accurately determine the object
- But don’t have an affordability ranges as like radars and cameras

So since these radars, lidars and cameras have some disabilities individually, all were fused to form an uncertainty in results, so this process of fusing is called sensor fusion.

SOME OF THE SENSORS THAT CAN BE INVOLVED IN SUCH FUSION:
- Accelerometers
- Flash LIDAR
- GPS
- Infrared / Thermal imaging camera
- Magnetic Sensor
- Radar
- Scanning LIDAR
- TV cameras
- Seismic sensors
- Sonobuoys
APPLICATIONS OF SENSOR FUSION:
- In determining the attitude of an aircraft
- Approach to determine the traffic state (low or high or moderate Traffic)
- In the field of autonomous driving
- Hyperspectral imaging
- IOT
- Technology in Target detection and Recognition
