Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is a painting that is felt rather than seen. All the 37 entries of our club’s Pen Illustration competition embodied the same. This 7-day competition (23rd to 30th of June) ventured into new territory of pen Illustration. Ballpoint pens have proven to be a versatile art medium for professional artists as well as amateur doodlers.

This competition encouraged the participants to take up a new challenge of working in a medium with the limitations of color availability. The participant’s creative ability to illustrate “still life” only using black and blue pens left me awe-struck. A passionate artist, of our club fondly remembers diving into the painting, excited to try the new art form. She also stated that we can see more of this technique in her future artworks. The coordinators, Akash Velanganni D and Kumararaja G were seen creating posters, publicizing the event, and handling the competition with capability and grace.

Mr. Raja Kavin Vishnu, one of our creative and artful alumina preceded us over the competition. The winners were selected based on their level of perfection in their perfection. Tarunika and Bharath were chosen as winners. All in all, this event was a grand success.
