In the new age of fashion, we are overwhelmed by the fact that COVID-19 is redefining the fashion world in the virtual platform. This includes the digital fashion week, virtual fashion show and virtual fair trade.

Virtual fashion show:

Fashion label Hanifa has put on a virtual fashion via Instagram Live show duringlockdown using 3D models in a move that has been hailed as “ground breaking”. Before the COVID-19 outbreak became widespread, Congolese fashion designer Anifa Mvuemba has already conceived a way to display her cloths collection in an innovative, digital- forward way by using 3D models in a virtual show.

Trashy Muse put on the world’s first virtual avatar fashion show. The show itself was a collective effort, featuring work by approximately 100 creators across online network primarily consisting of 3D artists which brought them together into a network of augmented reality.

Bigthinx held the world’s first digital 3D virtual fashion show. Bigthinx is a Bangalore based AI company providing size, fit, and visualisation solution for fashion and retail.

Digital fashion week:

The British Fashion Council was the first to adopt an online format when it announced that its usual men’s fashion week would move forward digital as a coed, digital week in early June.

In Paris, FHCM will host the first-ever virtual couture fashion week. It is a three day digital event, accredited couture house will present videos and complementary content that will go live on a preset show schedule.

Milano Fashion Week Digital with Italian fashion designers and promote their message across virtual platform from panel discussion on social media to virtual showroom appointments.

Fashion Design Council of India is ushering in a new era of digital showcase and re-wiringthe fashion system. The apex body goes digital as it announced India’s first ever digital fashion week. The announcement teaser went viral on Instagram gathering more than a lakh views.

Virtual fair trade:

The Virtual trade Expo was started by Fiber2fashion in the name of F2F Sourcing Show 2020 – The Virtual Trade fair. This brings the leading manufacturer and importers of apparel and textile sectors under one roof of virtual platform where they could find separate halls for Apparel, Yarn, Fabric and Textile machinery as like physical exhibition. In each hall a separate booth with an interactive was set up of all-important features like product showcase, profile, business card, exchange, live chat, video conferencing and many more.

 IHGF (Indian handicraft and gift fair) 2020 – a virtual textile fair for home textile, fashion & lifestyle, accessories and others organised by Export Promotion Council of Handicraft. This expo aims to connect with over 1500 suppliers in a real time event worldwide.

V Tex Show – Virtual Textile Exhibition organised by The Textile Excellence is trying to re-energizing the business in a new real way into the world of virtualization.
