“I raise up my voice not so I can shout, but so that those without a can be heard. We cannot succeed when half of us are held back.” – Malala Yousfzai

Standing up to Malala’s words ABLE club of Kumaraguru came up with the initiative of creating awareness and the need to voice out such harassments against men and women thus happened Nerkonda Paarvai on 17th September 2021. We had Mrs. Vallikala S (Student Counselor KCT) as our chief guest for the event. Mrs Vallikala is a psychologist by profession with Transactional Analysis as her base. She has been a senior facilitator in a Montessori institution dealing with peers, parents, and the kids for twelve years.

The event was a picture perception and so we started by playing some of the picked videos and participants came up so enthusiastically in sharing their perspectives and opinions. To no surprise, both the boys and girls came forward to express their ideologies and thoughts. After every discussion, Mam made us reflect upon our views and how well we can positively take it after. Mam also shared her personal experiences and insights. Some of them were fascinating and we did learn a lot. She also stated that the world lies beneath us and it is up to us on what and how we interpret. Finally, this was just not an ordinary event but, the one which made us all reflect on ourselves.
