NATURAL SHADES
If Forests are lungs of the Earth, then trees must be the bronchioles of the planet. Our survival highly depends on trees since they provide us oxygen and food . Other than that, trees also have plenty of uses.
If we cut a tree, we kill a life. If we save a tree, we save a life.
If we plant a tree, we plant a life.
On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, we took the responsibility to plant a tiny sapling which will become a great weapon to protect ourselves from all the struggles nature puts forth. The main aim was to direct student’s minds in constructive activities with positive outcomes through the facilitation of contributing to society.
On the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, we the Rotaract club of Kumaraguru College of Technology along with Gandhian Youth Movement club organised a Tree Planting Activity to raise awareness in society regarding the importance of planting and saving trees, expressing our concern to the environment, and diminishing the unfavourable effects of climate change. We had so many people taking this initiative seriously and started to plant trees it was a proud moment. Each one of the trees planted will contribute to make our country greener and healthier. We have planted around 50+ trees to make an impact in our society to lead a peaceful environment. We feel proud doing such social work which will be helpful for everyone in the world.
This is an important step of afforestation to maintain the ecological balance of nature. Such little steps taken together by the school and college students will surely help in fostering strong mental and social health amongst today’s children so that they connect with their peers, their elders, their community and their environment.
Until you dig a hole, you plant a tree, you water it and make it survive, you haven’t done a thing. You are just talking.” – Wangari Maathai
Hope we can move forward to the next step with all your support.
