Qubate club of Kumaraguru conducted the ‘Model IPL Auction’ on December 5th through MS Teams. This experimental virtual event had two rounds. The qualifying round was an IPL quiz. After which the top 8 teams qualified to the final which was the IPL Auction. 60crores, 80+ Indian players, 40+ overseas players ,8 teams,7hours and one game, IPL AUCTION. Cricket fanatics connected via virtual mode, to bid their favorites in their team. The game started with the auctioning of Marquee players, which eventually was the game changer. It proceeded with the auction of wicket keepers, batsmen, all-rounders and bowlers. The nip and tuck continued till the end between bidders. Star players attracted fierce bidding from the teams. With Virat Kohli heading to MI and Rohit Sharma heading to RCB the auction witnessed many dreams come true. At the end of the auction, teams were judged based on player ratings and other selection criteria. In the end Delhi capitals grabbed the winners’ medal with Rajasthan royals coming second. It was a fun and strategy filled marathon event which had a total turnout of 83 individuals. It surely was a treat to the cricket fanatics during this hard time.
