India won her freedom on the 15th of August, 1947 and became a Republic on the 25th of January, 1950. The new Constitution of free India came into force with effect from this day. It is a day of National rejoicing and a red-letter day in our country. The day is celebrated with pomp and show, zeal and spirit, throughout the length and breadth of the country.

The day was celebrated in our Kumaraguru College of Technology with great eclat. The college building was tastefully decorated with flower-pots, buntings and national flags. We were beside ourselves with joy. A dais was raised. Loudspeakers and video camera was fitted to celebrate this day in virtual mode .

The programme began at 9:00 A.M with welcome note. The Respected Joint correspondent Shri Shankar Vanavarayar unfurled the National flag amidst loud cheers. The students, teachers and some prominent citizens in campus were saluted. Also we proudly saluted to our brave soldiers in front of Amar Jawan Jothi.

National Anthem was sang in the loud speaker. Then followed by the National anthem our beloved Joint Correspondent sir gave the presidential speech. After that, an inspiring addresses given by our Principal’s of KCT and KCLAS. The Chief guest were alumnus from our college Squadron leader Imthiaz Ahmed (2009) shared his thoughts about the Republic day. the accomplishment of ‘National Cadet Corps’ was read out. After that CDT CPL R Nishank explains about our NCC Flag area to all others regarding that 1971 war India VS Pakistan. As it has been 50 years since the Indo Pak war happened in 1971, to Honour the Martyrs, we showcased it in our flag area. Finally this virtual celebration was wind up by NCC Song and Vote of thanks.
