Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a workshop on Metal Additive Manufacturing, which mainly focuses on different techniques used in Metal Additive Manufacturing, different composite materials that are used for manufacturing Brake pads and disc brakes. The workshop held for a period of two days i.e.) 03 – 04 April 2021. The time for the workshop was between 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm per day via MS Teams. The resource person were Mr. M. Thirumal Muthukumaran Dr. S. Balasubramanian, Assistant Professor, Kumaraguru College of Technology. The student coordinator of this workshop was Mr. Srivathsan of Mechanical Engineering Association.

The main objective of this workshop is to provide students an experience the core principles of Material Science and understand the engineering Materials used in the world around.

Students explored the properties associated with each type of material, and the methods used to experimentally determine and quantify the material’s properties. The total number of participants were 11 and the faculty coordinators were Mr. Dr. B. Senthilkumar and Mr. V. Manivel Muralidharan. Students were given merit certificates for attending this workshop.
