The installation of Mechanical Engineering Association started with the energetic welcome address by Dr.C.Velmurugan, HOD of Mechanical Department. The Chief Guest, Mr. Basavaraj, Division Head – Valve at KSB Pumps Limited, Coimbatore emphasized on the Importance of Interdisciplinary Knowledge and to prepare oneself according to the growing needs of the engineering society. Joint Correspondent, Shri. Shankar Vanavarayar highlighted the skills required for a mechanical engineer to survive in this competitive world. 

MEconnect, a platform that will help students prepare themselves for placements. Its aim is to make the students to set up the right path and decide their career. This was elaborated by Mr.S.Dharun Kumar, Vice-President MEA. It is a developed forum from the prototype of the Skill Development courses conducted for the 1st year students during the academic year 18-19 with the help of the feedback and experience we the association taken a step ahead where the MEconnect  acts as a platform for the students to get connected with technical flow between the seniors and juniors so that they are aware and will be able to develop themselves in recent technical development areas and also a platform to prepare themselves for the placements. Its aim is to make the students to set up the right path and to decide their career.


After the successful completion of the program they were able to brainstorm in the field of recent innovations, strong knowledge in placement need trainings and able to know about the industry culture and behavioural practice. The Year Plan and Introduction of office bearers was done by Mr.K.Arun, President MEA, summarised the year plan and followed it by introducing the new set of office bearers. Drawing this gathering to a close, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.Gokul Anandhan of Mechanical Engineering Association.
