Graduate Innovation Engineers from ProtoSem win laurels at Global Student Entrepreneur Awards
At the EO GSEA[Global Student Entrepreneur Awards] organised by EO Coimbatore, two teams of Graduate Innovation Engineers from #ProtoSem 19.1 [http://protosem.tech/] cohort have won first and third prizes for their Product Innovations- iHALE and Chimney Cleaning BoT respectively, out of the 48 teams that attended the regional finals on 26.09.2019 .
GSEA is the premier global competition with a vision to empower student entrepreneurs to become the world’s most influential change-makers by recognizing students who own and operate a business while attending college or university.
Team iHALE with Hari Saravanan, Deniela Grene, Mohan Kumar R and Ajaysuryaa KS have bagged the first prize for their prototype- a smart wearable device for asthmatic patients offering 24 X 7 monitoring of asthma triggers and respiratory distress with data collected in real-time. This also alerts the parents/guardians through a mobile application at the time of distress and aids in personalised diagnosis with the data collected. They are awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.
Team Chimney Cleaning BoT with Ancil Eric D’Silva, Akash Al Khalid, Praveen Babu M and Swetha Shri have won the third prize for their design of an affordable & accessible chimney cleaning robotic solution for luxury hotels. This reduces the kitchen downtime by 15% & operations cost by 20% apart from ensuring a safe working environment and are awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.
