Fusion 360 is a cloud-based CAD/CAM tool for collaborative product development. Fusion 360 combines organic shapes modeling, mechanical design, and manufacturing in one comprehensive package.
The event was organized by Robotics and Automation Club (RAC CLUB) on July 22 at 2 – 4 pm. The session handler MR. AADITHYA S.B (Scientific research assistant at the University of Germany) demonstrated in a wonderful way where the participants enjoyed and learned a lot.
The session started with the welcome speech by Mr. Sai Prasanth (President of RAC) and continued by Mr. Sathyanarayanan director of USAM CAD soft India Private Limited, Coimbatore. He explained his company features and accreditation. So the motto of their company is “SOLUTION FOR GROWTH AND INNOVATION”.
Then the session was hand over to the chief guest Mr. Aadithya. He started up with some questions and made the session interactive one with the participants. Nearly 78 members got benefited from this session. So, we claim the knowledge of the basics of FUSION 360 one of the software of AutoDesk. More than 90+ software’s are under the AutoDesk.
NEED FOR AUTODESK FUSION 360
ECAD(electric design), MCAD(mechanical design), CAE(analysis of design), CAM(generating with the codes, laser cutting ) so these all features come under AutoDesk and it’s well suitable for Fusion360. So these all come under the capabilities of Fusion 360 which can do 2D or 3D modeling.
Further, he explained about the Cloud -Power of the Internet and well good for fast communication. He mentioned a point that without internet Autodesk Fusion 360 will not be worked.
3D modeling demo was given with Fusion 360 and he explained mechanical software, all interfaces, tools, adjustments, dimensions, patterns, views of the model, and all features.
The nature of products is changing as well as the customer demands also changing according to technology development. As he explained with some innovative examples such as,
- Water bottle cap with a timer which pops with a flag to drink the water every 30 minutes.
- Garbage with electronic integration which informs the authorities to pick up the filled garbage.
So all these mechanical domains in Fusion360 were explained by Mr. Aadithya. Further, it was continued by Miss. Kanniga Gayathri –19BMC003 from the Department of Mechatronics, Kumaraguru Institutions to explain electric domains in Fusion 360.
She continued the demo by designing a PCB board -the setting of capacitors, resistors, diodes, IC’s and taught about validation.
Then the outer enclosure, temperature maintenance, thermal stress, statistics, vibration all the simulations were taught, and gave demo by Mr. Aadithya. Also, this Fusion360 gives an overall report of the designs. These generative design works should be reached with a proper destination.
The new way to achieve the determination by,
Human ➡ AI algorithm ➡ unlimited cloud computing
He has shown some of the models and explained the designs and dimensions such as flower vase, robot arm, lampshade, vase, and headphones.
Then he concluded by the wordings ,
“Capability of Fusion360 depends upon the limitation of our thinking, what we think, we will definitely throw it as output- so always think creatively”
