FIT INDIA MOVEMENT – Building Healthy and Stable India by Staying Hale and Hearty
In response to the call of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Kumaraguru Institutions joined the country in celebrating Fit India Movement on 29 August 2019. As an initiative to inculcate fitness through physical activities and sports in our routine, around 650 students of Kumaraguru College of Technology and Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science engaged themselves in a number of physical activities such as Mini Marathon, Walkathon, Cycling, Yoga and Zumba. The day began with more than 500 students gathering at Mahalingam Vigyan Bhavan Foyer where they performed various asanas. Following this, the students assembled at the Ramananda Adigalar Auditorium to watch the live screening of the launch of Fit India Movement by Honourable Prime Minister and took the fitness oath. Later the students participated in mini marathon, cycling, walkathon and zumba. A short video of the various activities held at Kumaraguru Campus has been sent to the UGC. Further, based on the latest circular received from UGC, a fitness routine has been charted out to incorporate sports, exercise and physical activities inside the campus.
